A new PANDAS related case study has been released titled A case of PANDAS with Kleine-Levin type periodic hypersomnia.
In this abstract, it talks about an 11 year girl who was diagnosed with PANDAS and Kleine-Levin syndrome (KLS). KLS is a neurological sleep disorder with a variety of accompanying symptoms.
Upon beginning prophylactic penicillin (we assume for high ASO and PANDAS), it seem symptoms of KLS ceased in the child. According to the abstract, with KLS, the usual treatment is to just treat the symptoms, so this can be a breakthrough for patients suffering from that disorder as well.

My daughter is now 32. At 8 yrs old she had Strep 2. Afterwards, she started pulling out her eyelashes and hair. It comes in bouts, sometimes a year will go by, then she’ll pull it all out again. She has recently been diagnosed with auto immune, rashes and hives… still torment her periodically.
She has suffered through, sleep disorders, anxiety……and personality change.
I believe she has PANDAS, from reading your website. I want to know, is there any “cure” available, for her as an adult? It would be wonderful to see her free, of this “monkey on her back”.
