It really is unfortunate that this goes undiagnosed for so long. There are still so many medical professionals who do not believe that this exists. It is debilitating for the patient and really horrific for the families who have to go to doctor after doctor with no answers to be found. It is not as uncommon as they seem to think it is. And finding doctors who know how to and are willing to treat it is also difficult.
