Barbara Hale-Richlen, M.D., is dually board-certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She founded a private practice in Brookfield, Wisconsin, where she enjoys working with a wide variety of patients but has particular expertise providing psychiatric care and therapy to medically complex patients and their families, especially those patients with PANDAS, PANS or autoimmune encephalitis.

Dr. Hale-Richlen is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a Senior Fellow of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry. For many years, she has served on the Executive Council of the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association. She is active in numerous professional organizations, including serving as a community mentor and supervisor to the Fellows in the MCW Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program. She is often asked to speak to other medical specialties on a variety of mental health topics. She is a strong advocate for mental health on the state and national level, and she is frequently called upon to provide expert opinions and testimony on pending legislation.
