Carrie Hochstetler shares her story about her children with PANDAS, Jasper and Griffin. When six-year-old Jasper developed severe behavioral problems and subsequently tested positive for strep, Carrie suspected that it could be PANDAS. But their primary care provider laughed off the idea of PANDAS, leading the family to seek out Dr. Roger Kobayashi, an immunologist in Omaha, Nebraska, who specializes in PANDAS. Dr. Kobayashi diagnosed Jasper with PANDAS, and Jasper began treatment. His condition improved, but not long after, his brother Griffin caught strep and developed symptoms similar to his brother.
